Kazutoshi Iida

Game Creator / Professor, Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences, Ritsumeikan University

Born in Tokyo, raised in Chiba Prefecture. Graduated from Tama Art University with a degree in oil painting. After working at ARTDINK CORPORATION, he established Parum Co., Ltd. in June 1996 (renamed Bauloz Co., Ltd. in September 2003).

Engaged in lecturing activities, collaborative artistic and research projects with Kazuya Asano and Kazunari Yonemitsu, and novel writing for “Genshiken,” he had distanced himself from commercial game production. However, he returned to the field in 2009 and was employed by Grasshopper Manufacture from 2010 for three years. He was responsible for the direction of the permanent exhibition “Anagura no Uta: The Disappeared Doctor and the Remaining Device” at the Miraikan(The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation), which opened on August 21, 2011. At the same time, he served as a lecturer at Tokyo Polytechnic University and a professor Digital Hollywood University.

Since April 2015, he has been a professor at the College of Image Arts and Sciences at Ritsumeikan University. He served as a judge for the Entertainment Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival from the 17th edition (2013) to the 19th edition (2015).
