Yume Aoyama

Born in 1997 in Ibaraki Prefecture. Completed a Master’s degree in Painting in the Graduate Program in Arts and Culture at Tohoku University of Art and Design. Her work explores the symbiosis between humans and nature through a mythological lens, focusing on cycles of healing and destruction in contemporary life. She is particularly interested in beasts that transcend boundaries, especially in times of calamity. Influenced in childhood by Ultraman monsters and mythology, she finds common ground between the two, creating works using the skins and fur of various discarded animals on the verge of being thrown away.
